Frederick's death certificate states he died 11 mar 1905 at the Yarra Bend Lunatic Asylum, he is a widower, it doesn't give any other relevant info, nor years in the Colony.

You may have already seen this but posting in case you haven't.
From facebook

quote " Frederick Sparke was appointed teacher on 24th October 1870 and early attendance averaged 20 pupils with 27 on the roll.
In 1873 the school became State School No.1273 and a wooden school building, on the corner of Pack Road and Kings Road was completed in September 1874. Frederick Sparke was Head Teacher until 1892."

SPARKES was not registered as a teacher until 1869.

He was publican in Templestowe July 1870.

There was a double teacher vacancy in Dec 1869 at the Church of England common school Templestowe

He went to Marysville as a teacher in Oct 1870

Thanks for that, I really don't know what to think about Frederick, his marriage certificate states he was a School Master and that was 1856. "Where?"

The information I am seeking is, confirmation of his whereabouts, prior to his marriage and up to 1863, in 1863 he is a Clerk on the Templestowe Road board.

Well,
It is possible he was "assistant teacher" to his prospective father in law,  whose records you have seen according to your topic in February, at the Greeensborough school.

It looks like Thomas Eliot JOHNSTON would have needed support to carry out his duties  in the school judging by his supervisor's comments.

In order to make himself look a fitting husband for the very young Clara, Frederick may have simply stated school master as his occupation.
