Dating a series of (possibly Stott family) photographs [2/5]

Here's the second of the five old photographs we've found in a family collection. We know nothing about them except what's visible on the scans, and the fact that they're probably inherited from Stott ancestors from the north west of England. I'd like to get your ideas on dates, please, and any other information you can glean that might be useful.

This is early-mid 1870s...the rounded corners on Carte de Visites were in introduced in the early part of the decade to enable the the Cartes to fit into the sleeves of Victorian photo albums.

Yes I associate the plain backs with the 1860s but the fashion, graphics and backdrop in this image is more 1870s.

The link that I put up was the only one I could find of Terry, Blackpool. There was one on e-bay but I didn't link to that.It was not dated but looked a similar vintage but different back.

So consensus is mid to late 1880s? What's the evidence pointing to that dating (not doubting it, just interested...)?
