Women's land Army
« on: Friday 19 March 21 19:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi all ...

I have been looking at my grandmothers LAR, and I'm struggling to make heads or tails of it, it is quite faded due to the fact it was the first thing I ever got from kew, and put in a folder and forgot about many years ago. I can work out the D.O.B, address she was living at. However I'm struggling to work out the WLA number, and there's some writing in the middle I can't make out at all, and the occupation, I'm guessing is factory but can't work out the bit towards the end, I think its commercial something .. but what that of been the type of factory or the company she worked for? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if you could tell me anything about the writing in the middle and the occupation at all?

Thanks
Denise

Hi Tony
Would that be who she worked for? So sorry to ask so many questions but I’m not 100% when it comes to army stuff I really should buy a book

W. L. G. Clarke would have been the name of her employer.

Looking at the writing in the middle, can see:

Reset Lond & Middx  11/6/48

(still trying to make sense of the line underneath)
