Letter this morningNHS, so in my diving suit ,with the goldfish bowl on my head, big wellies and rubber gloves I did not give it the usual quarantine period ,thinking it would be re the phone call instead of appointment with Cardiologist .However a letter telling me to get in touch for my second Covid vaccination

So I can book it on the phone betweem 2&4 this afternoon for Week staring March 29 th.
Everything wiped down.
So just having a cuppa.

Saw the lady whom I spoke with on Sunday re Census, she was with her sister, I just said “ did you get the census sorted .?”
Her sister said the husband had done it - with a big surreptitious wink.
So yes, perhaps a little bit of dementia .

My predictive text is a nuisance but often funny ,today emailed my daughter
re second jab and said I was looking forward ,when safe to go, to visiting - now I typed in Bury market, BUT, it came up as Urdu market,
Now there are many people from India etc who have stalls ,they are so cheerful and joking, but to assume they only speak Urdu when many Bangladeshi and  Pakistani speaking also have stalls is a diabolical Liberty!
Oh the stalls where the
Shalwar Chemise and Saris are sold are like rainbows.
I have a Sari ,and a little blouse that is worn with them.
OH brought it back from one of his trips to India in the 196o’s.
I have only worn it once, was scared it would fall down as no fastenings just folds and tucking in .
Red,shot with green and heavy gold embroidery along the hem and front panel.Blouse green shot with red, wild silk but sari silk but not wild silk.

My grand daughter looks spectacular in it ,borrowed it for a college do .
She asked about the red dot ladies have on their forehead ,but I explained as it was a religious symbol it would be wrong to use it as part of a fancy dress costume etc.,so she didn’t put one on.
I rather looked like a bundle of exotic  washing I imagine .
I have no photograph ,perhaps as well  ::)

Well bed stripped and so window wide open, washing in and hope it stays dry to put it on the line
So remake bed when the room is all fresh and aired , quick dust and vac .
Windows and paintwork done already so that is that!.
Other curtains  taken down all washed and dry already so can be put away .

Hope everyone is well, look after yourselves.
Cheerio. Viktoria.

:D  I'm loving that mental image Viktoria.... I wonder if we have any cartoonists who could capture it??

Your sari sounds marvellous too...  I used to love walking along the road where there were so many sari shops in Leicester in the middle 70s (was it Groby Road?).
When I was in India I found them mesmerising too.

No one in my road seemed to have a lit candle on their steps ,to remember all those lost to Covid 19.
Got a gardening catalogue and Captain Sir Tom’s deep red rose is available   .
Heavily scented. £14-99 but £2-99 goes to his fund .
Going to get one .

What a fandangle !
Nothing was accepted when I tried to get through by phone ,email or internet
so contacted my Health Centre ,they phoned,I got confirmation by email but there was supposed to be a number which I must present when I go for my second vaccination .
I will have to contact the Health Centre again.
They don’t make it easy for nerds like me!
Just how could an old lady - like me- get through to make a booking and get that number ,it is so complicated ,imagine the lady who was bothered about the Census!
I am fed up with technology !
Says she who uses RootsChat now  and  again!  ::)

A young woman from across the lane cane this evening
She is a Nurse but is back at Uni doing her Midwifery.
I knew her husband too as a schoolboy .
She left a box with two sorts of cream puffs and a Manchester tart.
( like me!  ;D ;D ;D)
Seemingly there is a food bank ,at Uni ,these cakes are outdated tomorrow , so were shared out this evening .
She does not normally use the food bank but the short  date meant it was share out or throw away .
I need sugar like a hole in my head!however a kind thought so accepted gratefully .
For those who are not familiar with Manchester tart,a sweet flan pastry,Raspberry jam, very thick creamy custard ,that cuts ,coconut sprinkled and a cherry on the top!
School dinners.

Well off for a bath as all the bedding is clean on .

Horse is doing well ,some more tests done  and  new medication ,now needs
“some more muscle on his top line”no idea what  that means but he needs it.
Not sure about the neck  problem , but is lying down  now, for short periods.
So things are getting better.
There are two horses in the next field ,he spends a lot of time galloping up and down with them on one side of the fence and he on the other !
Lots of person contacts too, which he loves , especially  Flash  Harry.
Ah well, goodnight folks .
Take care.
Viktoria.

VIKTORIA - the number might be either your NHS number, which I needed to provide, or possibly, the batch number of the first vaccine given, which should be on the card they gave you.

Glad the horse is doing well.

The Manchester Tart sounds divine, but I know what you mean about sugar!! :'(
I only fantasise these days.

Thanks Mowsie, just got through to my GP’s receptionist and she said it is not really needed !
So all OK.
The print is so small and my glasses not now the right prescription but as my sight is changing all the time as I put this drop or that drop  in I think it no sense to have an eye test yet.
Again another instance of people assuming everyone can cope with computers
Grrrrrrr >:(
Thanks though .
Viktoria.
