I wonder why the newspaper obituary says "aged 77", whilst the death certificate has "86years 10months and 11days"?
10 years is quite a discrepancy.  :-\

The date of birth for Henry Walter Bird - is very questionable.
As previously stated on the the death certificate in 1935 it states 86y10m11days = 31/12/1848

I have found a birth certificate for Harry Birth -28/07/1907 which states father Henry Walter Bird was 47 = 1860

Then there is the Trove death notice on 1935 stating his age was 77 = 1858

I would guess that the death notice DOB is incorrect as the death was reported by his grandson Norman Bird and not his wife(?) or children.

My interest definitely Henry Walter Bird born Moira 1857 ( could be 1858 )
Confirmed on 1871 census. Married 1880 age 23. Mary Ann Holt.
Two children John Earl Bird b.1881.   George Holt Bird 1882.
He left England for Australia in 1883 age 26.

He is my great grand uncle, the brother of my 2x great grandfather..

I’m wondering why he left ?? Leaving a young bride and two very young children.

Did he marry again, What is his new wife’s name and did he have a ‘new’ family? Are any about ?
Thanks for your interest.
