Bevan Family at Oxwich
« on: Tuesday 23 March 21 19:38 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I’m Stacey J Bevan, I came here because I seen the Bevan Family at Oxwich. Which is of interest to me as my paternal Grandfather Kenneth John Bevan was born in West Glamorgan Swansea around 1920-1930s. My dad says he had 9 brothers and 1 sister though I’ve been searching and can’t seem to link them so he may well be wrong,

I have ordered his Marriage Certificate to my Grandmother Hazel Lascom, from Swansea county council to help determine his age and year of birth to narrow things down for me then hopefully I can then order his birth certificate to show who his parents are, I’m interested because my dad seems to think that his father Kenneth was born or lived in Llanrhidian, Gower. Then moved to Ystalafera and had their children (my dad and uncle)

If I find out who Kenneth’s Parents are and manage to link it to the Bevan family at Oxwich could I please have the photos of the family. Or if I’m stuck on Kenneth’s Parents could I possibly have some help.

Unfortunately my dad doesn’t remember any of Kenneth’s brothers names as my grandmother was an evil woman, Kenneth left when my dad was in his teens (late 1970s) Hazel told my dad that Kenneth had died so never went looking for him.

My dad was contacted by a solicitor in the 2010s (can’t be certain which year could’ve been 2012 or 2015) to tell him that his father Kenneth had actually died in that year. And left him and my uncle inheritance money in his will. We know his death was either Kent or Luton or area.

I contacted the family of a Kenneth J Bevan that died 2012 in Redditch who are certain it couldn’t of been him. Although did have links to Swansea.

So back to the drawing board for now.

Sorry for the long post and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks.

A lot of times there are clues in the names...

The Morgan in Richard Morgan Bevan is for his mother's maiden-name:

 BEVAN, RICHARD  MORGAN      Mother: MORGAN
GRO Reference: 1910  S Quarter in SWANSEA  Volume 11A  Page 1179

Richards mother may have died in childbirth or there-after:

Name:    Age at Death (in years):
   BEVAN, MARY  HANNAH      25
GRO Reference: 1910  S Quarter in SWANSEA  Volume 11A  Page 461

Here is her birth and mother's name:

 Name:                       Mother's Maiden Surname:
MORGAN, MARY  HANNAH      REES
GRO Reference: 1885  J Quarter in SWANSEA  Volume 11A  Page 741

Mary Hannah Morgan has a will:  not sure if this will take to the document or just the site:

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/Calendar?surname=morgan&yearOfDeath=1910&page=5#calendar
Stewart. Scott. Bruce. McPherson. McMurray. McKibbin . McKay. McCann. Mckrinkine. McClewnan. McCallum. Joss. Ross. Morrison. Chapman. Middlemiss. Robinson. Conlon. Duffy. Dalgarno. Crookshank. Gammack. Ramsay. Mutch. Crawford. Orr. Galbraith. Kerr. Fergusson. Campbell.

I contacted the family of a Kenneth J Bevan that died 2012 in Redditch who are certain it couldn’t of been him. Although did have links to Swansea.

There is no registered death for a Kenneth BEVAN in 2012 who was born c1930.  Either they have the wrong years or he didn't die in England or Wales.
