Mystery word in 1778 will

I'm having trouble with a single word in a PCC will of 1778. It appears in the attached image after 'Maintenance' and the following line startup and Education'/ It refers to a bequest for child/children to assist in their upbringing. The word 'breeding' has been suggested, but I don't see a double e there although I do think it ends  ...ding. Any ideas please?

I read it as 'gooding up'.

I wondered whether it could be bo(a)rding.  Wouldn't be very logical, though.

I know maintenance makes (a lot!) more sense, but my tired eyes can only see Quaintenance. 
Time for bed, methinks.

You may realise this already, but bear in mind PCC Wills are copied into a Register, sometimes made from another copy copied from the original Will bundle with the original signatures.

The Registry dealing with the original Will, usually has the original Will bundle which should confirm (the Wills often copied quickly into the York Will Registers often have spelling differences and even unintelligible words, compared to the original Will bundle).

The word Maintenance will possibly have a fancy formed capital letter M in the original, see the word Niece and the name Betty which has the same Q shape to B in Betty.

The standard phrase in this context is ... maintenance bringing up and education.

I can't say exactly what's written, but it looks like a copying error, and the general meaning is surely clear.

I wondered about “bonding up” , ie bonding the child as an apprentice, which would make sense then when included with the next word, education.

If the will is on line details would assist or a clip from another part of the Will, in order to
Compare writing.
