Penketh, Warrington - ASHTON

I'm looking for information about the ancestors of my Gtx2 Grandfather Henry  Ashton who was born in Penketh, Warrington, Lancs (now Cheshire!)  abt. 1792.  I believe his father was William Ashton born abt. 1760 who married someone called Nancy.  I have searched the on-line IGI resources but there is no information beyond Henry's marriage in 1823.  I'm not sure where to go with this now.  Any information/advice would be much appreciated.        Warrington Central Library hold a great deal of info including parish records, not sure if they do searches. You can find them on this link.

Hi Peter, this message is over 10 years ago so you probably know this information by now. Henry Ashton is my GGG Grandfather, he was a cabinet maker, he married Harriet Thornely, her sister Mary Susannah Thornely married Robert Garnett also a cabinet maker from Warrington, he had a large cabinet making factory there (incidentally as I type it is being demolished    ) and they were neighbours in Penketh. Henry and Harriet's daughter also called Harriet married my GG Grandfather Thomas Doodson who was a cordwainer and the sub postmaster of Penketh Post Office. I still live in Warrington. I found your message because I have been trying to find out more information on Solomon Ashton from Stockport, did you manage to find anything out? I found another child called George born in 1807 as well as Harriet, Mary Susannah and Elizabeth. I wasn't sure if they'd had a child called William too. I'll post this and see if you get it.
