1831 Census _ Nelson family (Tullanee)
« on: Saturday 27 March 21 12:35 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I'm looking at the 1831 Census and can see the householders name and the number of people in the house, but cant seem to find their names, just a Male/Female split.

I've got myself in a tangle of Adam Nelsons in the Upper Cumber/Tullanee area in the late 1800s.  There are a number of Nelson families in that general area at that time and I'd like to be able to distinguish one from the other!

Any ideas where to cross reference the info?

Hi,
This is the actual page of Adam Nelson.
Look across and you will see the detail. As you look down that page you see other Nelson families.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/c19/007246496/007246496_00171.pdf
These records, show only the Head of the House name.
Some are duplicated.
They are not the best records,
Maggsie

Thanks - certainly not the best records!  But they probably didn't think about us 190 years in the future trying to find out who was married to who and who the father of the child was!

Not finished yet!
Did Adam nelson who you saw in the 1831 Census have a son Adam in 1833?
