I know Alexander Pilley was a seaman but can someone please tell me what the wording is in the line  below his name.

Alexander Pilley was on the 1861 census of Leith with his wife and young family.  He is NOT recorded in 1871.  His occupation of seaman, and the fact his wife remarried in 1871, led me to presume that perhaps he died at sea.  Any advice on where I can find such a record would be gratefully appreciated.

The 1870 death confirms wife Margaret Inglis and father George Pillow seaman. Cause of death ?
