Thomas francis duffy.
« on: Tuesday 30 March 21 01:52 BST (UK) »
Hi. Looking for some information on Thomas francis duffy born dublin 1863 ...I've been told he was in ww1 and died november 1st 1914. I'm sure this can't be right cause that would make him 51 at the time of his death ..he married Mary Waldron april 19 1885 and his son (my grandfather William duffy) was born march 1890. Any help would be great. I looked up to see if there was a death listed for him in dublin but can't find any.

I agree the 1914, WW1 death is not him.
However, there is a medal card (for merchant seamen) for Thomas Duffy born Dublin 1863 Download it for free at National Archives
https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8006179
The name is fairly common, so it may not be him - unless you recognise the address listed for his medal issue in 1919 – 8 Aldborough Parade, N Strand, Dublin

On the 1885 marriage record for Thomas Duffy to Mary Waldren, his parents are Owen Duffy and Mary Boylan.
This is the same father’s name Owen, that is on the 1913 marriage to Annie Kenny, that Gaffy posted above.
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)
