Warminster PR's
« on: Tuesday 30 March 21 04:24 BST (UK) »
Folks,
Seeking a user who has access to Warminster PR's 1770-1795.I purchased a set of microfiche from the County Council which are unusable as they have been printed in reverse or at 90 degrees, ten minutes with a twisted neck was enough.
John Smith and his wife Mary baptised a son,William in 1780,and a sibling search shows two more baptisms in 1789 and 1790 but to wife Sarah.Seeking marriage of John and Mary, her death and John's marriage to Sarah.
Hope this post doesn't offend anyone.

Is your William SMITH baptised 28 April 1780 at St Denys, Warminster? The image says "Son of John and Mary Smith, Strangers".

There is a baptism for a James Hawkins SMITH at Warminster on 8 May 1789 and Sarah Prince SMITH on 15 Oct 1790, parents John and Sarah, however, I can't see and image for those.

Found the images now, BT's , no further information except "Prince" is added above the line.

Will look for marriages, but if they were "strangers", then not likely to be here.  :-\

Yes, that is how I read it. "Strangers" - not from the parish. Other entries around it had the father's occupation, but this one just had "strangers".

Very difficult search - John and Mary SMITH!

Another researcher had Sarah Prince Smith marrying in Sheffield in 1833,and with no sign of a name so clear being born in England, we have taken this to be our girl.
Many thanks for your assistance Maddys.
