Henry Heywood 1859
« on: Wednesday 31 March 21 12:48 BST (UK) »
I have Henry in my tree as the son of John Heywood c1826 and Alice Heaton c1828.  I initially had him as being dcd in 1861, but I have come to learn recently that a Henry Heywood married Miriam Roylance and had children.  I am unable to look up local things as I live the other side of the country.  Could anyone help me out with this?  I have found another Henry born around the same time in other census reports, but his father had a different name, and I cannot seem to find him after the 1861 census.  Thanks in advance.

The Henry Heywood (age 19 occupation Carter) who married Miriam Roylance names his father as James Heywood (occupation Driller)

Rosie 99, I have Henry living at 19 Rollinson Street on the 1861 Census, but have lost him after that.  I am wondering that my first assumption - he died in 1861 - is correct.  I know that during the 1800's child mortality was quite high.

I can't see a death as Heywood that fits between 1861 & 1871 but there is this one

HAYWOOD, HENRY       age 5
1864  Sept Quarter in MANCHESTER  Volume 08D  Page 105

Rosie99 I originally had Henry's death as December quarter 1861 Manchester 8d 215.  It's just that most of the hints I have on Ancestry are stating that he married Miriam, and all the other information they have on him is what I have.  Very confusing, but I know that unless they are verified you take some hints with a pinch of salt.

That man was aged 33.

I agree with Rosie that the 1864 death seems to be the most likely.

You know, why did my mother have to marry a man from Manchester with a very popular surname I don't know.  Loved my dad loads, but wish he had known more about his family that he said.  I knew more about his mother's family than his father's.  Anyway, apart from that, thanks for helping me.  i shall send for a death certificate to verify that 1864 is the correct death date.

    Age: 4 yrs
    Abode: Sutton
