Not uncommon for the husband to go ahead of the wife and children.

How did you find Jemima's trip? was that on family search?

That was on ancestry.  The earlier passenger lists give very little detail, usually name and age, occupation for a male. Sometimes not enough to positively identify someone, only an unusual name or something like that would help.
