Tropical army uniform, nothing to identify the unit,  possibly a Captain.

Just a thought, might he not be a military officer but rather a Police Officer or some other Imperial official ? As pointed out already, he has no collar badges or similar military items. And Police officers wore 'pips' as rank badges as they do today. He does have a sword but, again, that might not mean he is a military officer. Good luck in your research.

He’s dressed as an Army officer in khaki drill uniform of the type worn in Egypt and the Dardanelles (summer months).  The two regiments most closely associated with Anglesey are the Royal Welsh Fusiliers (an infantry unit) and the Royal Engineers, although he could join any regiment and was not bound by those associations.  The absence of collar badges makes the infantry unlikely, but the RE did not always wear them.  His sword is a specific pattern (decreed by the design of the hand guard), but again could be infantry or engineers as their swords were similar.  I agree that he’s probably a captain (we can see there are 3-badges affixed to his shoulder straps) although it’s not impossible that it is two pips (rank stars) and a shoulder title (worn by officers on KD), in which case he’s a lieutenant.  Unfortunately there simply isn’t any regimental insignia visible.  The helmet appears to be Wolseley pattern.  The whole uniform is typical for the WW1 period in a hot weather theatre of war.
