looking for help with the McClure family
« on: Thursday 01 April 21 22:00 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I  am looking for information on my grandmother's parents Thomas and Jane McClure. My Nan Agnes was born in Green Island January 1912. I would love to find the address they lived at. She had two brothers Thomas Christopher born in 1916, James in 1919 and a sister Margaret who I have no information on.

Thomas McClure senior was a chauffer for a wealthy family and the family lived in Beaconsfield lodge on Knock Road, apparently Jane McClure died when my children were very young, but I would like to find out what happened to her and her husband and find out where they are buried and what happened to them.

thank you

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Is this the birth record of your grandmother Agnes?     MMN McClaughin (sic)
Born at Greenisland, Carrickfergus.

If so, here's the marriage of her parents....1911

Jane's surname was McLoughlin, her father Christopher was the manager of a brickworks and she lived at 'Dunbarton' Somerton Road, Belfast.
Thomas McClure (a chaffeur and father Thomas a gardener) lived at Landsdown (sic) Cottage, Fortwilliam Park, Belfast.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat ;D

You can check and see if any of YOUR McClure family signed the Ulster Covenant (division is Antrim East) and there are 66  McClure's, some signing in Greenisland, I just put in surame and Antrim East, these show a scan of the record so you also get their signature ( which is nice to have)
