Armstrongs of Ballynahinch
« on: Friday 02 April 21 14:18 BST (UK) »
Hello All,
I found a family tree in my files, but can't recall how I came to have it! I wonder if anyone recognises any of the following names?
The tree starts with a date of 1666 - James Armstrong and Mary Yates. Possibly a marriage? It then follows: April 26 1704 James Armstrong and Mary Campbell, July 21 1725 John Armstrong and Elizabeth Beakey, Nov 14 1775 James Armstrong and Elizabeth Turnbull, James (Armstrong?)  and Eliza Aillen (?), William (Armstrong?) and Elizabeth McCarty. William's second wife Jane B Armstrong, dau of David Armstrong and Ellen Baxter.
A footnote states that Elizabeth McCarty was the dau of Col Edward McCarty, who served under Washington & present at Cornwallis' surrender.
Any ideas?

I think I may have found William Armstrong who wed Elizabeth McCarty. He became a Congressman in Virginia. If the info I've seen is accurate, he was born on 23 Dec 1782 in Lisburn, Co Antrim.
Can someone move these posts to Antrim for me, please?
Cheers,
Bob
