What are "£10 electors"?
« on: Saturday 03 April 21 15:16 BST (UK) »
According to a newspaper article, the Electoral Roll for Elgin 1835  "...gives the names of the £10 electors of the burgh who voted after the passing of the Reform Bill, in the election of a member to Parliament, on the 24th January, 1835".

What are £10 electors, please?

I'm guessing here but I wonder if it was wealthy people who paid so that they could 'vote' in elections.

If you look at the below article, read the bit about Pocket Boroughs

People who had a property income of £10 per annum or more, and were therefore entitled to vote.

A change in the law, it was called Registration of Voters'  Bill in Ireland so I am assuming the same in Scotland ( clause 49) "declares that the right of voting shall vest in 10l. freeholders, having a beneficial interest to that amount in the produce of land, "

In England, a person occupying premises rented at 100l. a-year would probably make from 200l. to 300l. out of them, after paying the rent; but he had no vote as a freeholder, for he had no interest in the land. If, therefore, the Clause was not altered so as to assimilate the right of voting as freeholders in Ireland to the right as it existed in England

They are householders who were qualified to vote by virtue of paying a yearly rental of £10 or more. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reform_Act_1832
