Janet Horn(e)
« on: Saturday 03 April 21 16:36 BST (UK) »
I am seeking information on Janet Horn(e) born 1840 in Rhynie and Essie, Aberdeenshire moved to Canada with her parents James "The Immigrant" Horn and Margaret Clark pre 1861.   Janet seemingly had 2 children, Robert W Brownlee and Henry McLaren.   Marriage, Death, Birth dates of sons, anything would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Do you have information on her siblings?
If I have the right family in Rhynie and Essie in 1841, she had siblings:
Jean, 1831
James, 1833
and
Peter, 1835

--------
There is information on Ontario records that is said to be about Jean, but I don't want to duplicate what you already know.

for Janet, maybe
1871: She could be the Jannet Horne, 29, not married, in Charlotteville, Norfolk Co, Ontario, in 1871. Living with James Horne, 37. both born in Scotland. For marital status, his line looks like "Sig" smudged, and her line has an "M" scratched out. So they could be brother and sister. "Single" was not one of the options at the top of the column for marital status.

I'm next door to Woodhouse in Walpole. Horn's had 3 farms in Woodhouse, one at Marburg on the Lynn Valley Road and two on the Scotch Line just north of the first.

There are still Horn's in the area a simple Google search will tell you who. The Jarvis Record has James Horn's 1920 death and mentions his May 1833 Birth near Huntley, Aberdeen, SCT also from Google.  Norfolk Historical Society will have more information but unfortunately they are closed https://www.norfolkhistoricalsociety.ca

You can find the farms here https://digital.library.mcgill.ca/countyatlas/searchmapframes.php
