Nothing to really add I’m afraid. Oral history has it that he moved to the UK to make a new life for himself. My mother in law tried to locate him (her uncle) when she moved to the UK in 1959 but couldn’t locate him, which is not surprising as he had already emigrated. In theory, if following in his father’s footsteps, he should have been a Tailor. In practice he could have been anything. If it is him in the records you have found perhaps he was just a “jobbing” person, moving around taking on any available job that suited his skill set in the area. That he lists himself as retired in 1955 seems strange. You could speculate that he didn’t move to the UK after the war (which was difficult) but was her as a POW or an escapee. A lot of Poles were conscripted into the German army.
