So it doesnt say a lot Mary Ann Dykes - spinster. It does say she was born in Warnambool, which is right but she must have been living in (it looks like) Echuca New South Wales? Sorry i dont know australian places well. It names her parents John Dykes and Mary Dykes but thats all.

From online Ancestry, John MURCHLAND was born in Canada and arrived in Victoria, 1874.

Does John MURCHLAND have family in New Zealand, 1884?

Does Mary Ann DYKES have family in New Zealand, 1884?

I can't find much on young Andrew DYKES.

A possible mention of him in trouble in 1882 for assault in Geelong.  I can't see a marriage for him in Victoria.

A probable death.

Oddly enough there is no online record of Andrew being buried at Geelong Eastern Cemetery or any other Geelong Cemetery.  I'll call them after the Easter break.

Andrew Dykes - thank you for looking into that, i knew he had ended up in Geelong but no other details.
The possibility Mary Dykes ended up in NZ, not one that was ever mentioned in the family that they had
a grandmother in NZ,we are the only branch of this family in NZ ,so it would be odd it was never talked of.
 Marriage Certificate
17/11/1884 John Murchland (39) labourer born Prince Edward Island Parents Joseph Murchland Margaret Crowe (farmer) - cant read where he was at time of marriage looks like Napamhe, then New Zealands mentioned.
Mary Ann Dykes (26) spinster born Warnambool. Near Echuca NSW at time of marriage. John/Mary Dykes (carpenter) parents. Wesley Methodist Church(i think , hard to read) Witness  ....Tuckfield, Margaret Tuckfield.

Just to add - from family knowledge we know John Murchland came and went from NZ to Australia in search of gold many times, so the NZ part is no surprise.
