Annie is said to have married the HERBERT in England before coming to NZ.

Just wondering if she came to NZ as a BELL and married Thomas HERBERT in NZ in 1876. This marriage on NZ BDM website.

Greytown is a previous name for Allanton near Dn Airport

There appears to be no Ann MALCOLM in Dn Cemetery records though I have found Allanton records fairly sketchy in earlier burials

Death cert says 50 years in NZ. Perhaps he came out as the advance party.
But I realise that means he would have been only 15. So perhaps 50 years is just a rough guess.

There were already at least two Bell Families in Dunedin before 1866 and six boys who were early pupils at Otago Boys High School.   I presume the "Dillon Bell"s were not related.

Well I didn't know that about Allanton - previously Greytown.   

The registration district for the death of Ann MALCOLM, 1910, I'd picked up from the ancestry.com site.    Sometimes in those records there are errors where "registration place" is at odds with the "district".  In the case of Ann MALCOLM, "Grey" was referring to "Greymouth, West Coast" (rather than "Otago").    But I'll be on my toes now if I suspect an error and will check for any previous names a place may have been known by.

Perhaps buried in East/West Taieri cemetery? I know the records are "spotty", some having been destroyed by fire?

East & West Taieri Cemeteries are also now part of the Dunedin system so Ann Malcolm searched for in Dunedin Cemeteries is also not in those Cemeteries
