Help please William willis

Hi am looking for a bit of help in finding any info on William Willis,I know he married Ella jane jenkinson in 1923 in Garstang,and can find him in 1939 in Sussex with Ella and children, with his birth year as 1896.But have no clue to where he was born.Any help would be great thanks.

There are quite a few b 1896 as I’m sure you have seen.
His marriage certificate would show, hopefully, his father’s name and occupation which would help trace him earlier.

There is a tree also on Ancestry but no supporting evidence.

 Thanks for your replys on this.I did receive William and Ella's wedding certificate the other day.his father is down as William Willis deceased,job small holding.still banging my head against wall tho trying to find the mother :)many thanks.

Who were the witnesses to the marriage.  What information did the certificate give for abode and occupation of William junior

Hi William Jr was a poultry man,living west view Garstang. Witness William Down and Alice Beatrice jenkinson thanks.

Thank you, Similar work to 1939 then.  :).   Witnesses and address no help either.

You may have to wait for the 1921 census to get a place of birth.
