Surely the Chelsea one is a possibility, given that it’s close to the Thames and the age for those times is pretty good. Died and registered there but buried at ‘home’ 🤔

The burial register actually reads - On board a barge in the Rivers Thames & Medway. So perhaps on or around the canal? Chelsea seems unlikely.

What's the date of the burial - ie is it consistent with a registration in Sep qtr? And is there an alternative burial anywhere to fit the Chelsea registration?

Good idea about contacting the Medway RO.

Looking at my trusty BIG Road Atlas (2017) the Rivers Thames and Medway are too far from Chelsea.

Nathaniel was buried on 6 July 1845 in Rochester.

Chelsea is on the north bank of the Thames, opposite Battersea.

The burial register actually reads - On board a barge in the Rivers Thames & Medway. Perhaps on or around the canal? Chelsea seems unlikely.

The burial register records where someone lived ('Abode'), not where they died. This entry suggests that he was a waterman living on a barge who regularly plied those two rivers - which could easily include any parts of London adjacent to the river.

Update delayed.....a combination of the RO busy and me having to spend time trying to deal with a heating failure.

Second attempt tomorrow!
