The information is vague as I don't have it other than what I have given.
Many of us have had family stories passed down; I hope yours prove correct & I am sure rootschatters will give as much help as they can, but sadly some family stories do prove to be just that - misremembered or distorted through time.

Well, I think we’ve offered all our ideas.

I think you need to get more information. The family you have, do not have the two boys in that time line.

Perhaps it is a different family. You may need to go back to your Burke family rather than dwell on the Higgins group.
Are your Burke family also from Clonbur?

As mentioned before, there is/are published tree/s (all by the same owner) which has the three girls. This has been mentioned before.
Have you seen it? ‘Clonbur families ‘- perhaps you might find more information from the owner.

I have just found the following on another tree but they have stopped at the death of John
John Higgins
born October  1881 Mullaghdroma, Cloughbrack Upper, Clonbur, Galway, Ireland
Died July 1996 Gaillimh, Galway, Ireland
Married Anne Burke 1913 Oughtererad
John's parents
Patrick Higgins
Catherine  Klyne
Still no sign of two boys born to John and Anne. So I have no idea how they are not registered but at least one has gone on to have a family.
Thank you everyone for your help. It is appreciated

That’s  good that you found that.

Without naming anyone who may still be alive, can you post the ‘evidence’ that you have re the one you have who goes ‘on to have a family’ .
Where do you have the children?

What is your Burke connection to Clonbur?

Heywood,
Burke connection apparently is Anne Burke married to John Higgins in 19113

Lived to be 114......what an amazing record!

He's not on the list of oldest men in Ireland.
