DEATH Penny needs a home
« on: Sunday 04 April 21 12:59 BST (UK) »
A friend has set this challenge!

A WW1 death penny rescued from being scrapped in Thatcham around 1976.

Lance Naik   Bale Rana Niga   died 18 September 1918.

Son of Hangsu Persad Rana of Junia, Gulmi, Palpa, Nepal.

On the CWGC site he is shown as being attached to 1stBn, 2nd King Edward's Own Gurkha Rifles.

There is a Gurkha community in the Berkshire area so possibly he had/still has family there.

Can Rootschatters find them?  He would like to return it to them.

Have you thought about posting this request on the Great War Forum web site? There are some great researchers on there.
