Alice Smythe
« on: Sunday 04 April 21 22:58 BST (UK) »
Kia ora

From Otautahi / Christchurch where it is going to get to 29 degrees today, yikes it is April, never heard of that before!

I think these are Alice Smythe, the fourth name down from the top and then the single one, but can someone else tell me what else it says, I particularly want her father's name if it is there.  Are they a birth and death?

29! Itís much cooler up here in the Waikato today.

I think the Alice in the first clip is not Alice Smythe.  Maybe Alice David?  (But as you know I am not an expert!)

The second clip is Alice Smyth, but I donít know what it is.
But now I have posted hopefully we both get to find out.

The first clip is Alice Davis, the second is Alice Smyth.

I can't see 'Alice Smythe' anywhere on the first clip Bromwen.

The entry the 4th line down is
'Buryed Alice davis daughter of Edward davis the xixth of
ffebruary
'

All the entries on the first clip say 'Buryed' or 'Burying'.

The second clip starts with a 'B', which I think is 'buried', but there's nothing to compare this single entry to, so it may be 'Baptised', unless this is just a book of burials, which seems unlikely for 1589.
A bigger clip of the page would be better.

It says
'Alice Smythe servant to Mr wells the xvith of June'

I think it's 'servant' - can just about make it out.
