How do I isolate a particular church on Ancestry?
« on: Monday 05 April 21 13:29 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I'm trying to find the records for a specific church on Ancestry, in this case St Barnabas Church in Heapey, Lancashire.

I can't find anyway to look for a church on Ancestry. Is there anyway to isolate the records just from one church. Thank you :)
;D Doing my best, but frequently wrong ;D
:-* My thanks to everyone who helps me, you are all marvellous :-*

You can use the card catalogue to find the Lancashire parish records collection. Select , for example , Lancashire, England, Church of England Baptisms 1813-1911. When you have the search form on screen there is a drop down menu on the right where you can choose parish registers or bishops' transcripts. When you have selected one or other a further drop down gives you the list of parishes to choose from. ( Heapey is there ).

Link to the results page in the card catalogue :

There are also transcribed records for St Barnabas, Heapey on the free website Lancashire On Line Parish Clerks.

The St Barnabas records are on the link below and listed in alpha order within each batch of years shown for the type of event.

Hence if you can't find them on Ancestry - try Lancs OPC.
