Unfortunately, there are no surviving admission/discharge registers for Hackney before 1867, and no other sources that provide details of individuals at this date.

If he was taken into the workhouse (rather than given out-relief), his wife and any dependent children would normally have gone in with him.

Hi - don't know if you have the 1851 census record but at that time John and Eliza were still at 2 Sheep Lane:

John Beckers, Head, Age 44, Occ. Printer, B. Middx. St Marylebone
Eliza               Wife,        44,  Charwoman, B. Bishops Stortford
George           Son          19, Porter,               Hackney
Sarah             Dau          12                          Hackney
Hellen             Dau           8, Scholar                   "
James             Son           5,      "                        "
John               Son           2.5                              "

So whatever happened in 1850 the family were still settled at the address a year later.
