Date of Death: 4th October 1952

Date of Cremation: Wednesday 8th October 1952

I believe my grandmother was cremated at Gilroes Cemetery/Crematorium, Leicester on 8th October 1952. Is it possible to confirm this, and to look up whether her ashes were interred, scattered or given to the family? If interred or scattered, can we know where?

As you know her exact date of death you could contact the crem to confirm details etc.  If her ashes were scattered or interred within the the crem or cemetary etc - they would be able to give you the plot number.

If not - the ashes would have been collected by the undertaker & given to a family member for disposal.

Were you aware she left a will?  You can download a copy for £1.50 as it may contain the details you want.  Search 1953 - not 1952.  I see your grandfather was a solicitor
