His parents George Sturgeon and Mary Fleming were married in St Malachy's RC Church, Castlewellan on 10 Oct 1897. His mother Mary died in 1910 in Kilkeel, already a widow at the age of 33; I have not found a death record for his father George.
John Sturgeon's Pension Card gives his address as Bridge St, Kilkeel and his next-of-kin as his grandmother, Mary Ann Fleming.
