Deciphering occupation

I'm looking at the Father's occupation in the attached marriage certificate and think it may be Hostler but cannot be sure. Could anyone confirm this?

I thought waiter too.

If you can find him on the nearest census he may have the same occupation to double check.

I agree, I have a "Waiter" in my Family but in brackets it says (tide)
