Looking for some help

Otto Czeschel was born in 1912 at Kommerau, Gross Sibsau, Schwetz uber Neuenburg.

I'm trying to see what size of family he came from, any idea how/where there could be a family tree?

Thanks

Sorry, can't see anything at all. An Otto Hermann Czeschel died in Angus, Scotland (buried 22 August 1996). I wonder if he is a descendant?

Hi Manukarik

Yes that is him, he came here in WW2 as a POW and stayed.  trying to find out his life in 1912.  I am in touch with some family members who are unsure of the original family saize around 1012.

I'm still on the hunt, and notice that where Otto came from is now part of Poland. Kommerau only had a population of 34 in 1934 (1820 - 170, 1905 - 116).

Some of the records for that area are apparently held in the Berlin Archives, trying to track them down.

My Polish is non-existent - had hoped I'd find something here:

I note that Kommerau was called Komrau in 1820 and that the Polish name is Osiek. Do you know if the Czeschels were Lutheran or Catholic? In 1905 the Lutheran Parish was Warlubien and the Catholic one was Sibsau. The Civil Registry was in Groß Sibsau
