So sad to hear.  A man of great convictions and forthright with his opinions.  He didn't suffer fools gladly.  The support he gave to the Queen was immense.

RIP Philip - prayers and condolences to the Queen and family.

Sad but not unexpected news.

A long life devoted to his family and our Country. Tremendous support to his wife, The Queen.

RIP Your Royal Highness

A good and true man, greatly loved, often misjudged.  He will be sorely missed by all but none more so than his wife and family.  Let's not forget that this is what he was, an ordinary elderly man, with an equally elderly wife, who was much beloved and respected by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The fact that this is the Royal family doesn't matter right now; everything else should be forgotten over the next few days and weeks.  May he rest in peace "You deserve it, Sir".

I'm sure that the last thing he would have wanted is a huge state funeral. He seems to have been a man often undervalued by many.

This is the news about his funeral:

BBC News - Prince Philip's funeral: A ceremonial funeral but no lying-in-state
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56694327

It's very touching to see so many young people leaving flowers to pay their respects.

A very sad loss to The Queen and family... he’s been her stalwart for so long it much be unimaginable not to have him by her side....
It’s such a shame he wasn’t able to hang on until his 100th birthday...
A man who left his mark as well as his choice comments sometimes....

RIP your Royal Highness...
