Abode on burial entry
« on: Friday 09 April 21 12:59 BST (UK) »
Can anyone make out the abode of James Owens? He was buried at LLansannan in Denbighshire in 1830.

Yes, it could be. Allt Ddu is in the civil parish of LLangywer (according to Genuki).

Welsh Tithe maps (produced around 1840) has a Philip Owen as occupier "Rallt Ddu ("Ralt Ddu" on actual map), Llansanan, land use "Homestead" - landowner Yorke Rees Wynne.
Also listed against "Rallt Ddu" Llansanan are Edward Davies, land use "Gardens" and John Williams, field name Rallt Ddu, Homestead.

Thanks. Philip was James' son so I'm pleased that I have the right James. His wife Grace seems to have disappeared completely after the birth of their son Owen in 1797  ;D at least now I know where James' story ended.
