Mary Cecilia Clifford-1888 Illinois

I am having a problem tracing Mary prior to her marriage and after 1940.
Mary C Clifford married Stuart Leetham Jackson 15 Sep 1923 in Detroit. Parents are shown as John Clifford and Marie Jones. In 1940 Detroit  Mary C Jackson is shown as being born abt 1888 Illinois. The  name Mary Cecilia shows up on Stuarts Naturalization papers 18 Jun 1935, Detroit.
There is a Mary C Clifford(1889)(sister in law) showing 1920 Detroit living with Almon Butterfield and wife Anna. Their marriage cert 1913 Illinois shows Anna's parents as Thomas Clifford and Mary Russell. I have been able to trace Stuart with no problem but Mary is another thing.

Mary died in 1965. Her obit mentions she was aunt of Almon & Norman Butterfield.

This appears to Mary with family in 1910.
Her sister Anna married Almon Roscoe Butterfield in 1913.

Mary Teresa Clifford nee Russell died 6 Apr 1916 Galesburg, Illinois but I can not see a death for Thomas nor can I see him on a census after 1910.

I think he died in 1912.

The family appears to be buried in Saint Josephs Cemetery.

Also, there is a memorial for a Thomas J Clifford who died in 1912. His birth is listed as 1862, but I think that may be a transcription error. The marker photo for him is the same as for Mary T. It's really hard to read the print on the marker, so I'm guessing the  "6" for 1862 is actually a "5".
