"Use of Maiden Surnames in Scotland"
« on: Saturday 10 April 21 02:23 BST (UK) »
Highly recommended...

This is a very informative illustration in both video & text from Scottish Genealogists...
Graham & Emma Maxwell of https://www.scottishindexes.com/...

The info. is set out very well, easy to follow, with several different categories explained in full...

I’ve only read the text so far but it seems very simple and easy to follow.

Maybe it might be useful pinned in the resources or useful links section?

Thanks Ruskie...

I actually wondered about that too, will message the mods  :)

It really is good for non Scots tracing their Scottish ancestry as it goes into a lot of detail.

Excellent link Rossini’s, thanks so much.
I was slightly unsure how to view the Kirk session records.
Much appreciated.

Many get confused by the use of a woman's maiden name in Scotland, so a really useful link to post, Annie  ;)
