Electoral roll
« on: Saturday 10 April 21 12:44 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I found my Dad on an electoral roll in Aberdeen in the 1930’s. Some people had a capital P beside their names and he did.
I was wondering if anyone knew what this P meant?
Thanks

Postal vote  :-\.

Have you scrolled back to the beginning of the register as one of the first pages should show the meaning of these 'abbreviations'

It is Parliamentary,  also L for local and A for Absent.

ADDED It would mean he could only vote in Parliamentary elections and was not entitled to vote in local elections :)
