Unusual family set up on 1911 census
« on: Saturday 10 April 21 22:32 BST (UK) »
I was just looking at some 1911 census records and there is a bit of confusion on the transcript, so I flicked over to the next record. I'm not researching this family, but I find their story really interesting.

I came across the record of a Henry Trevor who is 48 years old. He is living with a women called Elizabeth Troster in a blended family. I've seen families like this before, but never where they were so open and honest about it on the census.

Henry Trevor states that he is single, but his partner is married (under the m/s column) and under the 'relationship to head of family' that they live together.

Under the length of marriage column he writes 'been 8 years with her'

He also makes it clear that the eldest two children are his partners children, but the younger two are his daughters - presumably with Elizabeth as they have the Troster surname.

I found it really fascinating. I wish I had the time to research Elizabeth more and find out what her story is.
;D Doing my best, but frequently wrong ;D
:-* My thanks to everyone who helps me, you are all marvellous :-*
