Bonfires in the woods Roobarb? Wouldn't that have the potential to cause a larger fire, especially if it is close to vegetation. It is a shame that the area can't be policed.

That has been my thoughts too Ruskie, there doesn't seem to have been a problem even in the summer, it is inside a big dip but it's still a risk. Years ago the police used to turn up and scatter the teenagers but that's exactly what they did- scatter! There are so many exits from the woods that they all just disappeared. The irony is that at that time they weren't doing any harm. There have been occasions more recently when large groups have congregated in several areas and caused damage, this being one of the areas. The police then make a dispersal order but they just move to somewhere else. I don't know what the answer is, the fault in many cases is with the parents who don't teach them any respect.
