1939 Question

Robert Francis George Grant birth registered as Robert F G Grant Sep 1931 Luton shows up on the 1939 register as being born 19 Aug 1931. He is on the Electoral Register in 1969. My problem is that I can not find a death for him on freebmd or the GRO Death Index. Has he been opened up in error or is he dead?

He is at the same address until 1972. Not there in 1973.

He seems to be recorded on 192.com, together with his wife, as late as 2014 (but not in Luton).
Eva family in Devon and Cornwall.
Bowdidge family in Devon and Dorset.
