Calcutta, India help please

Trying to help friends with their tree.

They have a Muriel whose surname they believe was WOODS born on 13th July 1908 in Calcutta to parents believed to be Henry and Jessie WOODS.

Muriel married they believe a Joe GAINES who was in the 10th Hussars in Calcutta probably in the 1930s as they had two daughters Margaret b 1937 and Wendy 1938. Believed in the Eden Hospital, Calcutta.

Sadly Muriel died 13th December 1939 in Calcutta. Joe or J GAINES her husband went on to join the Calcutta Police apparently. They have no other information on him at all.

That is the only information they have so any help would be most appreciated.

the marriage appears to have been in the Registry office in Calcutta 6 June 1936. He was Joseph Morritt Gaines aged 27 Police Officer father Sydney and she was Frances Muriel Elizabeth Wood 27 father Henry.
Joseph remarried in 1940.
