Jenett Wittye married Robert Duggleby abt 1526
« on: Tuesday 13 April 21 12:22 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone!

Re the above I have conducted a one name study of Dugglebys (my maiden name) worldwide for last 12 years.

So firstly if anyone is looking for Dugglebys I have tons of information going back to the year 1160.

I saw the above on a pedigree resource file on FamilySearch

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:S1Z2-QSM

I have never before come across this Robert Duggleby or his child Marie and I am trying to find the source of this information please.

I would really appreciate any help you can provide.

thank you

Elly

I personally would be inclined to take that scant amount of information with a "pinch of salt".  :-\  If you are doing your family history, then just a random date and county smacks of "number crunching".
BUT always worth noting it somewhere.  And, obviously, I stand to be corrected.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
If you don't ask the question, you won't get an answer.
He/she who never made a mistake, never made anything.

hence my trying to find the source of the data which was what my post was asking for!

As a long term researcher I ALWAYS get copies of source data even those very early records in latin which i have professionally translated.

there was once a Witty family history society which fed this information onto familysearch and I am hoping they will see this message and contact me.

I suspect this information came from the will of Jenett father who died in 1534. There is a will registered in York For Peter Wittye who died in Middleton 20 May 1534.

Will send for a copy and see what it turns up.

For the record I have many groups and invididuals whose info came from wills dated  before BMDs were officially recorded.

All of whom I can only record with DOB and or marriage as about x year.
