Confused about a relative

I came across and entry in the 1939 register which appears to show my great grandfather (Alfred E Brundle) his second wife (Ada Brundle formerly Hathaway) and a further individual (Alfred A Brundle).

I initially thought that Alfred A Brundle might have been their son as he was born about two years after they got married. However when I checked his birth on FreeBMD the name 'World' is listed against his birth. I can't find any other link between World and Hathaway or Brundle so I am at a bit of a loss as to the actual relation.

Does anyone have any ideas?


*Note. I have checked and all 3 individuals are no longer alive.

The only thing I can suggest is to purchase the birth certificate, at the moment I can't see anything that connects,

Interesting - I cannot see any birth registration with the combination of Brundle/Hathaway.

Was Ada definitely single when she married Alfred snr? or could she have been Ada World, first married to a Mr Hathaway?

20 Jun 1909 at Islington, Ada World and Henry William Hallaway. Could that be it andin Ada's later marriage Hallaway has been mistranscibed as Hathaway

I wonder if Ada's age was given as younger than she actually was?

There is no birth record for 1887 and Alfred's year of birth is 1889.  Presumably Ada wished to appear younger than she was and thereby close the gap between herself and Alfred.

This looks to be Alfred's birth record
