Thomas Corner married Philadelphia Pegg 1872

Im looking for any relative that can help me with this line of my tree please, these are my x2 great grandparents. At some point it seems they went their separate ways with Philadelphia marrying again in  1901 but Im not convincded that she was widowed at that point or even divorced even though her marriage certificate states she was a widow, I am awaiting a possible death certificate for thomas Corner. Anyone here that can help me out with this issue please?

Can you give us any more idea of this couple? When were they born, where did they live? Where did you find the marriage details? What links them to Leicestershire?

Was Philadelphia b in Lincolnshire? I can see Robert Ellis Corner with his Pegg grandparents in Marston, Lincs, in 1881, then in subsequent censuses. The GRO says he was born in the Melton Mowbray district, but this covers parts of Leic and Notts. I can also see a marriage for Phildelphia Corner in Essex in 1901, is this your ancestor? Have you found her in 1911?

Robert & Mary are with their Pegg grandparents in 1881, and Mary still there in 1891. Mary is the last born to the marriage, so either Thomas has died or the parents have split up

Philadelphia Pegg b 1852 Marston, Lincs.

Now that's an unusual name and I don't think that Marston is a large place.

So I'm suspicious of Philadelphia Brooker, the "wife" of Frank Brooker, who is in the 1891 census in Middlesex with Frank and a son Thomas Brooker, then still in Essex in 1901 without Frank. (I can't see a marriage, but I couldn't see the other ones initially so don't trust me!) She was apparently b in Marston, Lincs, in 1853. Is this the right woman? If so, then it narrows the time frame in which she and Thomas Corner may have parted company.

I saw her, but she's still Mrs Brooker in 1911 and dies as Brooker, which doesn't fit a 1901 remarriage
