I wonder whether the price hikes on FindMyPast subs means they may include it. Perhaps they have realised that it isn't as important to a lot of people as the 1911 was, and although people will be interested, they may not bother to buy credits just to look at an individual record, whereas if it is part of a subscription they may be more willing to pay.

I am looking forward to seeing the 1921 census, to fill in the gaps between 1911 and 1939. I know that my ancestors worked in engineering but am hoping to discover a little more information.

I am hoping it will help me fit a few more distant DNA links in to place and maybe help track down some of the missing fathers further back!

FindMyPast indicated some time ago that 1921 will be credits-to-view to start with, but with a discount on the price of those credits for subscribers.

I think it will save me a fortune in certificates, so unless a household costs more than a marriage certificate, I'm not feeling too bad about the prospect of PPV. I've got many candidate marriages 1911-1921 and having a year and place of birth for the people in 1921 will enable me to eliminate 4 out of 5 on my list.

I'm curious to see if there are additional types of information on the 1921, since they seem to have developed it somewhat each time.

...I've just checked.  Here's the additional information, as far as I can tell (from www.1921census.org.uk):

- age in years and months
- whether parents living
- number and ages of living children under 16 (including stepchildren)
- employer and place of work
- (Wales, Scotland) whether speaker of Welsh/Gaelic

As other have mentioned it will not help my research at all, but it will confirm details I already knew and will be of interest to me in that respect.
For instance it will show my grandmother & grandfather with 3 of their 4 children the 4th was born in March 1922 so will not be shown.
Cheers

I doubt that I'll learn much from it, but as it will be the last census to be released before 2051 when the 1951 should be released I'm keen to see it and add the relevant entries to my research data.

I somehow doubt that I'll be around in 30 years time to benefit from the 1951...  :'(
