Hi All

New member. Looking for some help. I can't for the life of me find any records except one of my birth mother as per the topic heading. I have managed to get a record log for her birth and a reference to her father but thats it nothing. No mother or anything. Anyone got any suggestions? I guess I might have to order a birth certificate from Portsmouth to get any further details.

Her birth record shows a mother's maiden name of Joseph.  No marriage seems to appear between a Treagus and a Joseph.

Is your mother still alive?  If so you need to remove her name.

What was her father's name?  Do you know when and where he was born?

Your mention of 'birth mother' makes me think you were adopted after your birth. I think you really need to get her birth cert to try and get as much details as possible. You mention you have Sandra's father's name, the cert will also let you confirm her mother's first name too.

Would guess that you have followed up on your adoption file and this is where the extra info has come from?

There are 2 birth registrations for your mother under different surnames but with the same mothers maiden name.

EDIT  - as her death is confirmed - second surname on registration can be shown as Harrison

There is a tree on Ancestry which shows she died in Kirkcaldy  Fife in 1991.  Married Robert Arthur M King in 1963  www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

Her father was Ronald P Treagus but only her mothers maiden name is shown.  Ronald was b 1925 in Portsmouth

There is an online tree on Ancestry for a Sandra Elizabeth Treagus, born 8 Oct 1944. Her father is given a Ronald P Treagus and mother xx Joseph (first name not known).

She married in 1963 Monkton & Prestwick, Ayrshire ) and died young at the age of 47 in 1991 in Kirkcaldy Fife (ref. 420/ 391). Her mother's maiden name of Joseph shows on her death index entry. Her husband died in Glenrothes, Fife in 2005. You can register to use www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for free and then do these searches I have done. You only need to pay when wanting to view an image or order extracts.

I haven't mentioned her husband's name as I think this is all too recent. Whilst he has now died, there looks to have been children. You can see his name when searching for the marriage on SP.

You can view these entries on the index on SP. However, they are outside the period where you can view the image online and  these would would need to be ordered through Scotlands People. You will have to wait for this though as they are currently not open for these types of orders due to covid.

The details we have mentioned for Sandra, give her father as Ronald P Treagus. Just seen another family tree which shows a Ronald Leslie Treagus, who was born 1 June 1923 in Portsmouth.

He married in October 1944 (the month that Sandra was born...) in Portsmouth to a Doris Gladys Samuels (ref. vol. 2b/pg. 1038). Doris died in Portsmouth in May 1986. Ronald died august 1998 in Portsmouth.

Treagus is not a common name. So this info could well connect for Sandra's father. Hopefully looking at certificates will help you confirm details fully.
