Family tree from st Elizabeth Jamaica

Hi I'm trying to trace my fathers family tree in Jamaica. His grandmothers name was Lillian dockeray/dockery born at 1880 prosper schoolfield areas of st Elizabeth. She had a brother named Stanford Dockery. Lillian had children by a man named Powell as my grandmother and her sisters and brothers carried that surname. I would love to find out more about Lillian and who her parents were if possible. Lillian brought up her grandson (my father) when he was a little boy.

My name is J. Ramsay and my grandmother was Doris Dockery/Dockeray, sister of Stanford Dockery and daughter-in-law of Esther Powell.

Hi Thank you for your reply do you have any information on Lilllan Dockery ? I believe my grandmothers fathers name was Zachariah Powell. Lillian lived in prosper Schoolfield until her death in 1972.

I do not have a Lilian Dockery on my tree but it’s possible that she wasn’t registered with a name at birth in Santa Cruz. That’s where Doris and most of her siblings were born as well as their father, Charles McGilvray Dockery. There is a birth certificate in 1926 for an unnamed Dockery child, daughter of Charles Dockery of Santa Cruz. It’s possible thats Lilian’s birth record. Or maybe Lilian is just a cousin.

I think it may be a different Dockeray family as the lillan Dockeray in my tree would have born abt 1886.
Do you know when your Stanford was born/ died?

Yes Doris’ brother Stanford was born in the 1910’s but there is another Stanford Dockery, a cousin, who was born 1890-1895.

There must be 2 Lillian's around as there is a Marriage;

Her Father ARTHUR** and his CHARLES

So the Lillian who had children with Mr Powell may have not had a Father named Arthur.
