Deserted in New York, 1875.
« on: Monday 19 April 21 09:49 BST (UK) »

I’m looking for William James Wilson, born approx 1857, who was Indentured as an Apprentice in The Royal Navy in Cork, Ireland in April 1873.

He apparently deserted in New York in 1875.

Is anyone able to find him anywhere after that?

Cheers, Romilly.

Not the Royal Navy. He was merchant navy. Bound to J Russell of Cork.

Many thanks ShaunJ, much appreciated.

There’s just a slim chance that this might be my ever elusive Grandfather William James Wilson, and so I’m keen to follow this sighting up.

Romilly.
