So a little while back I asked for your help about locating my wifes biological grandparents and subsequently we located her father. So, thanks to those that helped.
But now my next question.
Based on my wife and her fathers DNA results, we have documented that her father is not biologically related to his cousins on his own fathers side of the family. Based on their DNA results, I have matched them to a number of other DNA matches and have identified who I think is the parents of my wife's grandfather. It is compelling because not only do we have some close DNa matches, the 2 people in question were neighbours. The father was a young widow and the mother was a 21 year old neighbour. The grandfather lived his life with a middle name that matched his anticipated mothers surname!
So, I have now obtained the Birth Certificate for my wife's grandfather. The record lists his first name and then (Deceased). I assume that is because he is now subsequently deceased?
There is room for a different name at birth and also for any name changes but they are blank. The parents names match the "adopted" parents and not the "biological" candidates. There was no other details listed for the "adopted" parents, like ages, maiden names etc.
The address was listed as 18 Kensington Street, Wellington, which I understand was a Bethany Maternity Hospital for unwed mothers.
Does it make sense that he was born and then adopted through the Bethany Hospital?
I thought there would be a birth record for his Biological birth and then adopted birth too?
Is there going to be any other records kept for this adoption/birth?
Thoughts?
